Smudge-Proof Eyeliner That Actually Works for Mature Eyes
The Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil is my go-to because it actually stays put. No smudging, no fading, and best of all—no more eyeliner ending up under my eyes by midday like I used to deal with all the time.
It glides on so smoothly thanks to that creamy formula, making it really easy to apply without tugging (especially around the eyes where skin can be more delicate). The ones that tug give me a spotty application. This one just glides on effortlessly. I’m not a pro at this, and I find that it’s not easy to mess it up!

I prefer a cream eyeliner because I feel they are just easier to work with. The liquid eyeliners set quickly so if I do get sloppy it’s impossible to clean it up!
(Keep in mind that this cream eyeliner will not create a sharp cat eye wing )
It’s also waterproof and long-wearing, so it holds up through long days, humidity, and everything in between.

I love that it’s buildable—you can keep it soft and natural for everyday or layer it for a more defined, slightly smokier or thicker lined look. It also works well along the lash line or even lightly smudged out.
Brown vs Black (What I Actually Use)
I keep both the brown and black versions, and I honestly use them differently:
- Brown: my everyday go-to. Softer, more natural, and really flattering
- Black: more defined and perfect when I want a slightly bolder look
For over 40, I personally find brown a little more forgiving for everyday wear.
I will also set my undereyes with a translucent powder for extra staying power!
If you’ve struggled to find an eyeliner that doesn’t budge, but still looks soft and flattering, this one is absolutely worth trying!!!
